Trailer Released for “Ebenezer”: Johnny Depp’s Transformation as Scrooge

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Paramount Pictures has released the first trailer for the feature film Ebenezer, starring Johnny Depp. This marks Depp’s first major Hollywood role following his high-profile 2022 court battle with his ex-wife, Amber Heard.
Directed by Ti West, the film is a dark and distinct reimagining of Charles Dickens’ classic tale A Christmas Carol, featuring Depp as the infamous miser Ebenezer Scrooge. In the newly released trailer, Scrooge is tormented by terrifying Christmas ghosts and vents his malice by hurling snowballs at passersby in the snowy streets. At the end of the trailer, Depp declares: “It feels good to be back.”
Ti West, best known for directing horror films such as Pearl and MaXXXine as well as animated works, stated during the trailer reveal that adaptations of A Christmas Carol were among his earliest encounters with the horror genre.
The film’s ensemble cast also includes Andrea Riseborough, Tramell Tillman, Ian McKellen, Rupert Grint, and Daisy Ridley. Ebenezer is scheduled to hit theaters on November 13.
