Unprecedented Country Dominance on Billboard Hot 100: Entire Top 5 Controlled by One Genre for the First Time

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, country music has set an unprecedented historical milestone, occupying all top five spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously for the first time in the chart’s history. This landmark achievement comes courtesy of massive chart runs by Ella Langley, Morgan Wallen, Taylor Swift, and breakout artist Stella Lefty.

On this week’s chart, Ella Langley’s smash hit “Choosin’ Texas” reigns at No. 1 for a 16th consecutive week, holding its position as the best-selling single of 2026. Claiming the No. 2 spot is Morgan Wallen’s latest single, “Been by Now.” Taylor Swift’s new track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” slipped one spot to No. 3. Spot No. 4 is held by Ella Langley and Morgan Wallen’s collaborative duet “I Can’t Love You Anymore,” while Stella Lefty’s breakout single “Boston” rounds out the historic top five.

Langley’s 16-week run at the top with “Choosin’ Texas” ties her with historic hits such as Morgan Wallen’s “Last Night,” Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day,” and “Despacito” for the fourth-longest No. 1 reign in Billboard history. Holding the top spot for just one more week would lift Langley even higher in the all-time rankings.

Beyond taking the top five spots, country music captured six of the top 10 positions overall this week, as Langley’s additional track “Be Her” landed at No. 9.

The remaining four entries inside the top 10 feature Tame Impala and Jennie’s “Dracula” at No. 6, Olivia Dean’s “So Easy (To Fall in Love)” at No. 7, Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me” at No. 8, and Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need” at No. 10. This extraordinary showing by country artists is expected to pose a major statement for Grammy voters in the coming months.
