Thriller Series “The Embassy” Starring Anna Kendrick to Air on MGM+

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the six-part action-thriller series “The Embassy,” starring Anna Kendrick, is set to air on MGM+.

Created and written by Ram Vromen / Ram Rothan, the series stars Anna Kendrick as “Layla,” an American diplomat, alongside Sam Heughan (star of “Outlander”) as her British ex-fiancé, and J.K. Simmons (star of “Whiplash”) as the U.S. Ambassador. The series is directed by John Strickland and Christian Alvart.

The storyline begins when armed mercenaries launch an attack on the U.S. Embassy in London. Caught in the crossfire, Layla faces a tough decision: protect the U.S. Ambassador or obey his orders to exfiltrate a high-value asset from the embassy. As a larger conspiracy comes to light, she is forced to rely on her wits and the help of her ex-fiancé—a British Special Forces soldier—to save her life and those around her.

In addition to the United States, MGM+ has acquired the broadcasting rights for the series across various territories, including Italy, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and the Netherlands. Prime Video had previously secured the distribution rights for the series in the UK, Canada, France, and Australia.
