Jennifer Aniston and Peter Dinklage to Star in Olivia Wilde’s Christmas Film ‘Naughty’

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the holiday spirit is already in the air with Jennifer Aniston and Peter Dinklage joining a new comedy project. Universal Pictures has announced that the two actors are set to star in a Christmas-themed film titled “Naughty,” directed by Olivia Wilde. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on November 5, 2027.

Olivia Wilde, whose latest work is the A24 comedy The Invite, will direct the project based on a screenplay by Jimmy Warden (Cocaine Bear). Warden originally wrote the spec script independently.

The plot of “Naughty” revolves around Mallory (played by Jennifer Aniston), who is locked in a fierce legal battle and custody dispute with her ex-husband. Her last hope to win is to track down Santa Claus himself (played by Peter Dinklage) and convince him to testify in her divorce court!

“Naughty” will face some fun, family-friendly competition on its opening weekend, as it debuts simultaneously with Warner Bros.’ animated comedy Margie Claus, featuring Melissa McCarthy as the voice of Santa’s wife.

This isn’t the first time the stars of “Naughty” have dipped their toes into holiday-themed projects. Jennifer Aniston previously starred in the 2016 comedy Office Christmas Party alongside Jason Bateman and Olivia Munn. Peter Dinklage played a memorable supporting role in the 2003 classic comedy Elf, starring Will Ferrell. Wilde herself also appeared in the 2015 Christmas film Love the Coopers.

Following her successful directorial efforts with Booksmart (2019) and Don’t Worry Darling (2022), Wilde recently earned critical acclaim for The Invite, in which she also starred alongside Seth Rogen, Edward Norton, and Penélope Cruz. David Rooney, chief film critic for The Hollywood Reporter, wrote of Wilde’s direction: “At this point, it’s hard to deny that she’s the real deal—a skilled, consummate filmmaker.”
