Wes Anderson to Shoot His Fourteenth Film in Late 2026

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Wes Anderson is preparing to direct another feature film nearly a year after the release of The Phoenician Scheme. World of Reel has reported that the filmmaker will shoot his fourteenth movie in late 2026 or early 2027 in Europe.

Anderson co-wrote the screenplay with Roman Coppola and Richard Ayoade, though no details about the story have been revealed.

Ayoade, who was among the cast of The Phoenician Scheme, is best known for the series The IT Crowd, and his style of humor closely resembles Anderson’s work.

At last year’s Cannes Film Festival, Anderson said, without disclosing any story details: “I’m not saying anything about it. But it’s a bit bittersweet.”

The Phoenician Scheme received positive reviews following its premiere in Cannes. IndieWire wrote: “The Phoenician Scheme is one of Anderson’s busiest films and, at least on first viewing, perhaps the least pleasurable of his recent works.”

The film was made on a $30 million budget and grossed over $40 million worldwide.
