‘The Batman: Part II’; Charles Dance Joins Robert Pattinson in DC Sequel

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, following the success of the first installment, the project “The Batman: Part II” is entering a new phase with the addition of a major star. Charles Dance is reportedly in talks to join the film and, if the deal is finalized, he will appear alongside Robert Pattinson, who will once again portray the Dark Knight. The sequel is written and directed by Matt Reeves.
Reports suggest that Charles Dance, best known for playing Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, is set to portray an influential father figure in Gotham’s universe. He is likely to play Charles Dent, the father of Gotham City District Attorney Harvey Dent, a character expected to be played by Sebastian Stan. Scarlett Johansson has also joined the project to play Dent’s wife.
The film is scheduled to begin production in the spring, with a planned release date of October 1, 2027. James Gunn and Peter Safran, the heads of DC, are producing the project alongside Dylan Clark.
The first The Batman, directed by Matt Reeves, was one of Warner Bros.’ first major post-pandemic blockbusters. It was released simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. Starring Robert Pattinson and Zoë Kravitz, the film grossed over $369 million domestically and approximately $772 million worldwide.
The new role appears to be a fitting choice for Charles Dance, an actor known for portraying one of the most powerful and cunning characters in Westeros. He now seems poised to bring a similar presence to Gotham City.
Dance recently appeared as Dr. Frankenstein’s father in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, which was nominated for an Academy Award. He has also recently appeared in the series The Day of the Jackal.
