Jason Momoa, Tenoch Huerta, Adria Arjona, and Kiefer Sutherland Join Miles Teller in Thriller ‘Copperhead’
According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Black Label Media has added Jason Momoa, Tenoch Huerta, Adria Arjona, and Kiefer Sutherland to the cast of the Miles Teller-led thriller Copperhead.
Details regarding their specific roles remain under wraps. The news comes ahead of this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, where Black Bear will launch international sales on the project.
In Copperhead, when a covert drug deal turns violent, a seasoned detective is forced to team up with a young federal agent to uncover a conspiracy within their own elite task force.
Venice Film Festival award-winner John Swab is set to direct from a screenplay by Chad Feehan and J. Todd Scott. Principal photography is scheduled to begin in September. The project is financed by Black Label Media, which is also producing alongside Miles Teller’s Lime Tree Productions and Swab’s Milk Boy. CAA Media Finance and WME Independent are co-handling domestic sales rights.
Momoa, who recently wrapped production on Supergirl as the bounty hunter Lobo, was recently seen in Amazon MGM’s action-comedy The Wrecking Crew alongside Dave Bautista—which, according to Nielsen data, was the fourth most-watched film across all streaming platforms between December and June. His upcoming projects include Street Fighter, Dune: Part Three, A Minecraft Movie, and Fast Forever.
Huerta is best known for portraying Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a role he is set to reprise in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday. Up next, he will appear alongside Taylor Kitsch in Peter Landesman’s hostage thriller 11 Days.
Arjona, recently seen in Disney+’s Andor and the comedy Splitsville, will soon star in A24’s Unplugg’d (releasing September 4) and MGM’s The Thomas Crown Affair reboot starring Michael B. Jordan (releasing March 2027). Her other upcoming credits include Amazon’s series Criminal, the erotic thriller Scorn directed by Sarah-Violet Bliss, and James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow.
Sutherland, best known for his iconic role as Jack Bauer in 24, was recently seen in Clint Eastwood’s legal thriller Juror No. 2 for Warner Bros. His upcoming slate includes Luc Besson’s Father Joe alongside Al Pacino, set for its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, as well as Horseman alongside Barry Pepper and C. Thomas Howell.
