Jon Cryer: My Salary for Two and a Half Men Was One-Third of Charlie Sheen’s

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Jon Cryer has revealed a decade after the end of Two and a Half Men that his salary for the series was “one-third” of his co-star Charlie Sheen’s. The sitcom aired for twelve seasons from 2003 to 2015.

The Emmy-winning actor recently compared Sheen to a dictator, saying in the documentary aka Charlie Sheen: “He was in the middle of a collapse in every way I could possibly imagine, and he was renegotiating for another season of the series that I was also supposed to be in.”

He added: “Kim Jong-il was the dictator of North Korea. He always acted insanely, and as a result, the countries that feared him threw money at him. The same thing happened on this show. [Sheen’s] salary went beyond the norm because his life was falling apart. I, who had a relatively good life at the time, got one-third of his pay.”

Cryer recalled that CBS had “pre-sold” several seasons of the show, which gave them the incentive to pay “this incredible amount.”

Two and a Half Men followed a writer played by Sheen, whose brother Alan (Cryer), along with his son, moved into his house after a divorce. In 2011, while struggling with addiction and after launching public attacks on Warner Bros. and CBS, Sheen was fired. Season eight was shortened, and Ashton Kutcher joined the show as a billionaire character who replaced Sheen’s role in the story.
