According to the CinemaDrame news agency, “Landman”, the Taylor Sheridan-created drama on Paramount+, which explores the oil industry in West Texas, has finalized its Emmy category placements for its second season.

While the first season of the series was overlooked by the Television Academy, the second season has managed to attract attention from major awards bodies. This includes nominations from the Critics Choice Awards acting ensemble, with Billy Bob Thornton recognized in the Best Actor in a Drama category. As a result, the show’s awards campaign has become significantly more active in recent weeks.

Billy Bob Thornton, who plays the lead character Tommy Norris, will compete in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series category. However, unlike the previous season, Ali Larter—who plays his wife Angela Norris—has been submitted in the Supporting Actress category this year rather than the lead. All other cast members have also been placed in supporting categories.

Among them is Demi Moore, who portrays the widowed wife of Norris’s close friend and former boss. Sam Elliott, who was not part of the first season, has joined the cast as T.L. Norris, the father of the main character. Andy Garcia, who was previously listed as a guest actor, will compete in the supporting category this year for his role as Galino, Norris’s mysterious business partner.

Among the younger cast members, Michelle Randolph and Jacob Lofland play the main character’s children, Ainsley and Cooper. Paulina Chávez also delivers a notable performance as Ariana, Cooper’s love interest. Kayla Wallace appears as Rebecca, Norris’s cold and determined attorney.

Other potential nominees include Clem Foehr and James Jordan as the main character’s associates, as well as Mark Collie in the role of the local sheriff.

On April 16, the Television Academy hosted a screening of the Season 2 finale in North Hollywood, an event attended by much of the cast and followed by a Q&A session. Additionally, on April 22, Paramount+ held a special event in New York titled “Faces of Taylor Sheridan’s World,” which also featured members of the Landman cast.
