Stephen King Tells “Pluribus” Creators to Hurry Up: “I’m Not Getting Any Younger”

According to Cinemadrame News Agency, with the conclusion of the first season of “Pluribus,” fans—including horror maestro Stephen King—are already growing restless for Season 2. The first season of this sci-fi series ended on a major cliffhanger, leaving the audience craving more.
However, series creator Vince Gilligan says he is in no rush to film the second season and is currently listening to ideas from the writers’ room. He acknowledges that this delay might frustrate fans but explains that as he gets older, he cannot work as fast as he once did.
The author of The Shining and It, however, took to X (formerly Twitter) to nudge the creator, writing: “I’m not getting any younger.”
Gordon Smith, another writer and producer on Pluribus, previously stated that he agrees with Gilligan’s approach, emphasizing that quality should not be sacrificed during the lengthy creative process.
Given that production for the first season of Pluribus began in February 2024 and was ready for broadcast by November 2025, a second season would—in the most optimistic scenario—arrive in December 2027, assuming filming begins in Spring 2026. Any further delays could easily push the release into 2028.
