Season Two of Fallout Launches with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, reviews for the second season of Fallout were released just hours ahead of its premiere on Prime Video, and all of them have been positive. The season currently holds a 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 25 reviews. The first season of Fallout received a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score from 133 reviews.

Created by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner, the series is based on the video game franchise of the same name and follows life in a post-apocalyptic world centered around underground vaults built to protect survivors of nuclear war in Southern California. Lucy, played by Ella Purnell, is one of the main characters — a young woman who has spent her entire life inside a vault. When a crisis forces her into a rescue mission, she discovers that the surface world has become a living hell, filled with giant insects and various mutated creatures.

The second season of Fallout is set in New Vegas and follows the characters Lucy MacLean, the Ghoul, Maximus, and Dogmeat in and around the city. Justin Theroux joins the cast in the role of Robert House.

The series features performances by Ella Purnell (Yellowjackets), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight), Aaron Moten (Emancipation), Moisés Arias (The King of Staten Island), Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Sarita Choudhury (Homeland), Michael Emerson (Person of Interest), Leslie Uggams (Deadpool), Frances Turner (The Boys), Dave Register (Heightened), Zach Cherry (Severance), Johnny Pemberton (Ant-Man), Rodrigo Luzzi (Dead Ringers), Annabel O’Hagan (Law & Order: SVU), and Xelia Mendes-Jones (The Wheel of Time).

A USA Today critic wrote of the second season: “Fallout remains a dazzling series with distinctive visual effects, emotional depth, and strong characters.”

The Wrap noted that while season two may have a few flaws, it becomes more compelling toward the end, concluding: “In short, season two is worth the investment.”

A critic from The Seattle Times wrote that the new season not only delivers “gut-busting humor” but also goes beyond the first season to “explore more meaningful ideas.”

Variety added that although the second season of Fallout does not have the same tightly constructed framework as the first, its “mysteries and revelations keep viewers glued to the screen.”
