Only “One Signature” Remains Before Warner Bros. Is Sold to Saudi Arabia

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, Patrick Caligiuri, the American producer known for series such as The Amazing Race, has revealed that Saudi Arabia is on the verge of purchasing Warner Bros. Discovery, and that only “one signature” remains before the deal is finalized. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has entered negotiations to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery.

This claim emerges amid widespread speculation about the company’s future, and Netflix has confirmed that it is considering a potential acquisition. Caligiuri says he reported the likelihood of a sale to Saudi Arabia in mid-October, but now many outlets are republishing his report under their own name.

The producer says he has a reliable source in Saudi Arabia who tells him the deal will be concluded soon. He adds that he has full confidence in his sources and is willing to risk his reputation. Caligiuri confirms that one remaining uncertainty involves whether Comcast will enter the deal, and there are open questions about whether Warner Bros. must remain intact as a company.

He adds that Hollywood publications have remained silent regarding Saudi negotiations, instead focusing on Paramount, which has received several bids exceeding $60 billion. However, the trillion-dollar wealth of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund sidelines any other potential buyer.

In recent years, Saudi Arabia has launched the Red Sea International Film Festival, acquired Electronic Arts (EA) in a $50 billion deal, and invested heavily in sports and tourism.

If a deal between Saudi Arabia and Warner Bros. Discovery is finalized, the company’s assets — including DC Studios, franchises such as Superman and Harry Potter, HBO and CNN networks, and DC Comics — would be sold.
