Thomasin McKenzie to Portray Audrey Hepburn in Dinner With Audrey

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Thomasin McKenzie and Ansel Elgort have joined the feature film Dinner With Audrey, produced by Wayfarer Studios, Hyde Park Entertainment, and Mad Chance Productions. Deadline reports that Oscar nominee Michael Shannon is in talks to join the cast alongside the two actors in the film, which will be directed by Abe Sylvia.

The movie is based on the true story of the 40-year relationship between Audrey Hepburn (played by McKenzie) and Count Hubert de Givenchy (played by Elgort), centering on a magical night in Paris that marked the beginning of their decades-long collaboration. Hepburn famously wore Givenchy’s designs in the classic films Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Sabrina, as well as on the night she won her Oscar for Roman Holiday in 1954. Cara Holden serves as both the screenwriter and one of the film’s producers.

Abbe Sylvia is the creator of the Emmy-winning Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, starring Kristen Wiig, whose second season is set to premiere next month. Sylvia also wrote for The Eyes of Tammy Faye starring Jessica Chastain, and for the Showtime series George & Tammy (starring Chastain and Shannon) as well as Dead to Me.

McKenzie will soon appear in The Testament of Ann Lee, directed by Mona Fastvold, and opposite Andrew Garfield in The Uprising, directed by Paul Greengrass. Her upcoming projects also include the comedy Fackham Hall. McKenzie previously appeared in The Power of the Dog and recently completed the gothic horror film Victorian Psycho.

Elgort is best known for his roles in West Side Story, Baby Driver, and HBO Max’s Tokyo Vice, and will soon star in the stage production of Quadrophenia at the New York City Center.

Michael Shannon will next be seen in Nuremberg, produced by Sony Pictures Classics.
