Bruce Willis’s Wife Responds to Critics Over Living Separately from the Actor

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Emma Heming Willis, wife of Bruce Willis, revealed in an Instagram video last Friday that she no longer lives with the actor, who has been diagnosed with dementia. A day later, she responded to the “loud” criticism, saying: “Unless someone has had this experience, they cannot comment, and they certainly cannot decide.”
Willis appeared last Tuesday in a special ABC television program, speaking about the challenges of life with someone suffering from dementia. She explained that living separately from the 70-year-old Die Hard star was “one of the hardest decisions” of her life.
Speaking about her 11- and 13-year-old daughters, she added: “Bruce would have been willing to make such a decision for our girls. He would have been willing to live in a home that suited their needs rather than his own.”
The former model explained that her husband now lives in a house with full-time caregivers, and she had been prepared to face backlash from the actor’s fans.
Last Friday, she also read a passage from her book The Unexpected Journey, set for release in September: “Everyone has an opinion, but you have to remind yourself that most people don’t have the experience to back up their arguments. And if that’s the case, it’s best they not bother to comment.”
Emma Heming Willis, 47, married Bruce Willis in 2009. The actor was 67 when he was diagnosed with dementia in February 2023, a year after stepping away from acting due to aphasia.
Bruce Willis also has three other children from his previous marriage to Demi Moore.
