Nicolas Cage in Talks for True Detective Season 5

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Oscar winner Nicolas Cage is in negotiations to join Season 5 of HBO’s Emmy-winning anthology series True Detective. Issa López, showrunner and writer of Season 4, has reached a deal to return for the new season.
Earlier reports indicated that the story will take place in Jamaica Bay, New York. If the deal closes, Cage would play a New York detective named Henry Logan.
Oscar winner Jodie Foster joined True Detective: Night Country (Season 4) after lengthy negotiations and went on to win an Emmy for her performance. Talks with Cage have been underway for some time, though there remains a chance they could fall through. Production on Season 5 is scheduled to begin in 2026, with new episodes expected to air in 2027.
Previous seasons of the series starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson (Season 1), Colin Farrell (Season 2), and Mahershala Ali (Season 3).
Season 4 followed two detectives, played by Jodie Foster and Kali Reis, investigating the disappearance of eight men at a polar research station in Alaska.
Cage recently wrapped filming on Spider-Noir, a Sony and Amazon Prime Video series.
