According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Erin Foster, the creator of the series “Nobody Wants This,” is stepping away from behind the camera in the third season of the Netflix romantic comedy and joining the cast.
Foster will appear as a guest star in the third season of the series starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody. In this season, she plays “Nicole,” a long-time single woman with a chaotic and disorganized personality. The character is essentially a version of “Joanne” (played by Kristen Bell) if everything in her life had gone wrong.
Foster originally began her professional career in front of the camera, appearing in works such as “Gilmore Girls,” “Castle,” “The O.C.,” and “Roswell.” She also starred in the mockumentary comedy series “Barely Famous,” before transitioning into writing and producing.
In Season Three, several new recurring cast members will also appear, including Sarah Silverman and Andrew Rannells. Rannells, known for “Girls,” plays “Sebastian,” a rival to Joanne in a conversion class. Silverman plays “Rabbi Eden,” a warm and unconventional teacher in the “Introduction to Judaism” class who supports Joanne and “Noah.” Kyla Monterroso Mejia also joins the cast as “Amber,” a single woman enrolled in the same class who is highly eager to find a Jewish husband.
Other guest stars include Avan Jogia as “Travis,” a confident man who enjoys teasing Joanne. Poorna Jagannathan appears as “Eleanor,” Sebastian’s sharp-tongued aunt. Sadee Sandler plays “Denise,” a young psychic, while Stephanie Koenig appears as “Poppy,” a sarcastic dating app user. Steven Weber plays “Julian,” a divorced father who is humorous and balanced.
Justin Lupe, Timothy Simons, and Jackie Tohn will also return this season. The storyline of Season Three will focus specifically on the religious conversion journey of the main character played by Kristen Bell, an agnostic podcaster.
The series is produced by 20th Television, with Erin Foster and Kristen Bell serving as executive producers alongside Sara Foster, Nora Silver, Steven Levitan, Danielle Stokdyk, Jeff Morton, Oly Obst, Jenny Connor, and Bruce Eric Kaplan. Connor and Kaplan also serve as the showrunners of the series.
