‘Deli Boys’ Announces Season 2 Premiere Date; Andrew Rannells, Kumail Nanjiani, Lilly Singh, and Robin Thede Join Cast

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, the series Deli Boys will return to Hulu for its second season on May 28, featuring a star-studded lineup of guest stars and new recurring roles.
The new cast includes Andrew Rannells and Kumail Nanjiani in recurring roles, with Lilly Singh and Robin Thede appearing as guest stars. Additionally, Tan France returns as the British criminal Zubair, joining series regulars Asif Ali, Saagar Shaikh, Poorna Jagannathan, and Fred Armisen.
Armisen, who has been promoted to the main cast for the second season, portrays Max Sugar, a betting genius with an uncanny ability to read people. His gambling empire is global, but the crown jewel is in Philadelphia. He is uniquely brilliant yet unhinged—a deadly combination if you cross him.
Created by Abdullah Saeed and developed by Jenni Konner and Nora Silver, the series follows Mir and Raj Dar (Ali and Shaikh); two Pakistani-American brothers who lose everything and are forced to confront the secret criminal life of Baba (Iqbal Theba), attempting to take his place in the underworld. Jagannathan stars as Naveeda “Lucky,” Baba’s trusted friend and the crime boss’s wife.
Season 2 reveals that inheriting a criminal empire was the easy part… and more money truly brings more problems. The Dar family is drowning in dirty cash, and Philadelphia’s most dangerous criminals are closing in. Enter Max Sugar: casino king, money launderer, and Lucky’s new flame, who turns money laundering into a chaotic affair. Raj plots revenge against Ahmed, Mir tries to expand DarCo without destroying everything, and Philadelphia D.A. Andrew Chadwater (Andrew Rannells) hopes a major bust will carry him to the mayor’s office.
Details regarding the new cast members and their roles are as follows:
- Andrew Rannells as Andrew Chadwater, the District Attorney with political ambitions for the mayoralty.
- Kumail Nanjiani as Danial, a defense attorney hired by Max Sugar.
- Lilly Singh as Ayesha, the wife of Malik Ali (Shahjehan Khan), who is infatuated with Raj.
- Robin Thede as Dr. Iverson, a couples counselor with questionable ethics.
The half-hour series was created for Hulu by Abdullah Saeed and developed under Jenni Konner Productions. Michelle Nader serves as showrunner and executive producer alongside Saeed, Konner, and Silver. The series is produced by Onyx Collective and 20th Television.
