First Trailer of Erupcja: Charli XCX in a Romantic-Comedy Anti-Romance

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, the trailer for Erupcja, one of Charli XCX’s first acting experiences after The Moment, has been released. The drama premiered at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival but will enter the U.S. market next spring.
The singer of the song Brat stars in this film, directed by Piotr Os, as a story about a woman named Bethany and her fiancé Rob, played by Will Madden, in Warsaw, Poland. She reunites with her childhood friend Nell, played by Lina Góra, and they wander through the city’s backstreets. These outings gradually turn into an escape plan.
After its Toronto premiere, Erupcja received an 85% score from Rotten Tomatoes based on 20 reviews and a 69% rating on Metacritic. The Guardian gave the film a full 5-star rating, describing it as a “delicate, unpolished project.”
Charli XCX has played herself in several series, including Overcompensating and The Moment, directed by Aiden Zamiri, but Erupcja marks her first dramatic role, preceding other films such as The Gallerist, I Want Your Sex, 100 Nights of Hero, Sacrifice, and Faces of Death.
Erupcja is set to be released on April 17, 2026.
