Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor Team Up for Drama Series The Spot

According to CINEMADRAME News Agency, Claire Danes and Ewan McGregor will star together in Hulu’s drama series The Spot, written by Ed Solomon. The series is a new production from A24 and 20th Century Studios.
Danes joined the series in June following Kate Winslet’s departure due to creative differences. Winslet, who in recent years starred in HBO’s The Regime and Mare of Easttown, was initially set to serve as one of the producers through Juggle Productions.
The series follows a surgeon and her teacher husband as they begin to suspect that a woman may be responsible for the death of a child in a car accident, leading them into a spiral of dark secrets. Solomon serves as the writer, showrunner, and co-producer of the series.
Solomon’s credits include the HBO Max miniseries Full Circle, Steven Soderbergh’s No Sudden Move, and films such as Men in Black and Bill & Ted. Robin Sweet and Ariel Kleiman are executive producers, with Ariel Kleiman directing the series.
Danes and McGregor were originally set to work together over twenty years ago on Flora Plum, directed by Jodie Foster, but that project never reached production. Danes will soon star alongside Matthew Rhys in the Netflix miniseries The Beast In Me.
McGregor recently starred in the Paramount series A Gentleman in Moscow, earning Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice nominations. He won an Emmy in 2021 for the Netflix series Halston, and next summer he will appear in the sci-fi film Flowervale Street in theaters.
