The first trailer for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the first trailer for 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, a sequel to 28 Years Later, has been unveiled. Nia DaCosta, known for The Marvels and Candyman, directed the film from a screenplay by Alex Garland. Danny Boyle, the director of 28 Days Later, serves as producer on the project.

The story of The Bone Temple follows the character Spike, played by Alfie Williams, who must join the brutal cult led by Sir Jimmy Crystal, portrayed by Jack O’Connell. The cast also includes Alfie Williams, Jack O’Connell, Ralph Fiennes, Ché Lewis Perry, Erin Kellyman, and Emma Laird. Cillian Murphy is expected to reprise the role he played in 28 Days Later.

Boyle previously confirmed Murphy’s appearance in the second installment: “We haven’t been paid for the third part yet. I suppose it depends on the performance of the first one. But I hope it does well, and that they give us the money for the third. In fact, everyone is waiting—including Cillian. He’s in the second one. I shouldn’t give away too much. They’ll kill me.”

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple will be released on January 16, 2026.
