Ariana Grande Unveils New Album “Petal”; Release Set for Summer

According to the CinemaDrame news agency, Ariana Grande has finally revealed details of her upcoming album. The singer’s eighth studio album, titled “Petal,” is scheduled for release on August 9. The album was executive produced and co-written by Grande alongside Ilya, and will be released through Republic Records.

Grande described the album’s atmosphere as a work full of life, saying it grows out of the cracks of something cold, difficult, and challenging.

Swedish-Iranian producer Ilya Salmanzadeh, known professionally as Ilya, has previously collaborated extensively with Max Martin and also worked on much of Ariana Grande’s 2024 album “Eternal Sunshine” as a producer and songwriter. He has also worked with artists such as Taylor Swift and Sam Smith.

The release of the album had been widely anticipated, as Grande had recently hinted at new music through studio photos shared over the past months. She had also previously announced that her summer tour would begin in June.

The official announcement of the new album comes after three intense years in which Grande focused on the film Wicked and its sequel, a period that also coincided with the release of “Eternal Sunshine” and its deluxe edition in 2025.

Although the upcoming tour was initially introduced as being tied to “Eternal Sunshine,” it now appears that “Petal” will play a central role in the live performances. Grande previously said the tour might be her last for a very long time.

Last year, she stated in an interview that her professional life over the next decade would look very different from the past 10 to 15 years. Grande explained that she did not want to make any definitive promises, but expressed excitement about the upcoming small-scale tour and suggested she may not perform on such a scale again for a long time. She added that she intends to give everything she has to the tour and turn it into a beautiful experience—one that feels like a grand farewell celebration.
