Reason for Seth Rogen’s presence at Venice: research for season two of The Studio

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Seth Rogen was seen with a camera in hand during the press conference and opening night of The Smashing Machine at the Venice Film Festival, recording footage. The comedian has now confirmed that his unexpected appearance at the event was to gather information and conduct research for the production of season two of The Studio.

In an interview with Italian outlet Adnkronos, Rogen said he is scouting locations for the second season of The Studio, though he did not reveal whether he would attend other film events this year, such as the Toronto or New York festivals.

Apple confirmed the production of season two of The Studio in May. At that time, Rogen and co-creator Evan Goldberg said the series could continue for “ten seasons.”

The first season premiered in March, focusing on a character named Matt Remick, who becomes the head of an old Hollywood film studio and must fight to keep it alive. Catherine O’Hara (Home Alone), Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), Ike Barinholtz, and Chase Sui Wonders starred in lead roles, while Bryan Cranston, Kayla Monterroso Mejia, Martin Scorsese, Greta Lee, Sarah Polley, Olivia Wilde, Zac Efron, and many others made cameo appearances.
