Josh Duhamel: I’m 70 percent ready for the apocalypse

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Josh Duhamel says he is prepared for the possibility of an apocalypse and has built a “doomsday cabin” in Minnesota. Nearly a decade ago, Duhamel bought a property in Minnesota and gradually constructed an apocalyptic cabin equipped with water, electricity, and other facilities.

The 52-year-old actor, who is the father of two, told People magazine that he is “not 100 percent, maybe 70 percent” ready for the end of the world: “I could be better at hunting. I could be a better fisherman. I could stock a little more food.”

The Transformers and Safe Haven actor added that “this vast world of technology” and artificial intelligence “scares” him, and he feels he needs to become more skilled at “making and fixing things” with his hands.

Duhamel said: “Yes, people want to call it doomsday prepping, but it’s really not that. I’m really just a guy who likes to get back to basics and principles, and learn all the fundamental skills. I don’t think we’re living in a terrifying situation or should be worried about the end of the world, but having some of those skills is good. I’ve been away from them for too long, and I feel like it’s time to get back to them.”

He previously told Parade that the reason for building a home “deep in the woods” was to get away from “everything”: “The closest store is 40 miles away.”

In another interview with Fox News, he added: “I think it’s because of the memories we’re creating as a family. My parents and my wife’s parents really love spending their time here.”
