Golden Globe 2026 Nominations: One Battle After Another Leads With 9 Nods

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the nominations for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards were announced moments ago. One Battle After Another — a satirical look at division and suppression in the United States — leads the race with nine nominations, followed by Sentimental Value, about the fractured relationships within a filmmaker’s family, and the vampire film Sinners, with eight and seven nominations respectively.
These films will compete in the Drama and Musical/Comedy categories. One Battle After Another appears in the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy lineup alongside Blue Moon, Bugonia, Marty Supreme, No Other Choice, and Nouvelle Vague, while Sentimental Value and Sinners face off against Frankenstein, Hamnet, It Was Just an Accident by Iranian director Jafar Panahi, and The Secret Agent in the Best Drama category.
In television categories, HBO’s The White Lotus and Netflix’s Adolescence lead with six and five nominations. They’re followed by Only Murders in the Building, starring Selena Gomez, and Apple TV’s sci-fi thriller Severance, each receiving four nods.
Netflix — which recently reached an $82.7 billion agreement to acquire Warner Bros. — tops the studio rankings with 35 nominations across film and television. Warner Bros. follows with 31.
One Battle After Another is nominated not only for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, but also for Best Director (Paul Thomas Anderson), Best Actor (Leonardo DiCaprio), Best Actress (Chase Infinity), and Best Supporting Actor (Benicio Del Toro, Sean Penn, and Teyana Taylor). Anderson is also nominated for Best Screenplay, while Jonny Greenwood appears in the Best Original Score category.
Infinity earns her first-ever Golden Globe nomination for One Battle After Another, as does Michael B. Jordan for Sinners. On the other end of the spectrum, Christy, starring Sydney Sweeney and directed by David Michôd, received no nominations.
The 83rd Golden Globe Awards, hosted by Nikki Glaser, will take place on January 11, 2026.
