Pluribus Season 1 Breaks Records on Apple TV+

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Pluribus, written and produced by Vince Gilligan, became the most-watched drama series on Apple TV+ during its first week in over 100 countries, including the United States, the UK, Canada, Brazil, Australia, Mexico, and France. Apple TV+ has not released exact viewer numbers but stated that the series has surpassed the record set by the second season of Severance.

Nielsen, which monitors smart TVs in the U.S., will report viewership for Pluribus based on watch time in the coming weeks. Luminite previously reported that the first two episodes of the series accumulated 6.4 million viewing hours within the first seven days.

Apple acquired the streaming rights in 2022 after a competitive bidding process and greenlit two seasons. The sci-fi series stars Rhea Seehorn as one of the few survivors of a global pandemic who must save the world from despair.

Vince Gilligan told Screen Rant that the series could run up to four seasons: “I think we have a very good sense of the endpoint. One of the main things in the writers’ room is not to get too rigid with ideas. If we find a better ending, we will make it.”

New episodes of Pluribus will continue to air weekly until December 26.
