Winners of the BAFTA Film Awards2026: One Battle After Another Named Best Film

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the 79th edition of the BAFTA Film Awards concluded with One Battle After Another winning Best Film. Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film also took awards for Best Director, Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing.
At the ceremony, Hamnet, directed by Chloé Zhao, which will compete against One Battle After Another at the Oscars, won the BAFTA for Best British Film.
Britain’s biggest night in cinema was held at the Royal Festival Hall and hosted by Alan Cumming. This year’s race was more competitive than in previous years, with no clear frontrunner ahead of the ceremony.
Wunmi Mosaku won Best Supporting Actress for Sinners, while Frankenstein led the craft categories, winning Production Design, Makeup and Hair, and Costume Design.
One Battle After Another led nominations with 14, nearing the record of 16 nominations held by Gandhi. Sinners, directed by Ryan Coogler, followed with 13 nominations and won Best Supporting Actress, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Original Score.
During the ceremony, the song “Golden” from Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters was performed.
