Trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Lionsgate has released the trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s four-hour film Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair. The movie will hit theaters on December 5 in both 70mm and 35mm formats, though Tarantino screened a version of it in Los Angeles last summer.

In The Whole Bloody Affair, the final scene of Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003) and the recap at the beginning of Kill Bill: Vol. 2 have been removed, combining both volumes into a single, continuous film. Tarantino originally intended Kill Bill to be released as one movie, but it was ultimately split into two parts — Vol. 1 in October 2003 and Vol. 2 in April 2004 — which together grossed $333 million worldwide. He later screened The Whole Bloody Affair at the Cannes Film Festival, and again in 2011 and 2024 in Los Angeles.

Uma Thurman stars as The Bride, a woman who awakens from a four-year coma after being shot by her boss and former lover, Bill, and embarks on a ruthless path of revenge. The cast also includes Lucy Liu, Vivica A. Fox, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, Michael Parks, and David Carradine.

At San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Tarantino confirmed that this cut of the film exists, saying:

“I wrote and directed it as one movie — and I’m thrilled fans will finally get the chance to see it that way. The best way to experience Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is in cinemas that support 70mm and 35mm projection. The blood and carnage on the big screen — in all its glory!”

Uma Thurman has previously stated that a third installment is unlikely:

“There’s really nothing I can tell you about it. I mean, it’s been talked about for years. There were some serious discussions about making it — but that was a long time ago. I don’t see it as imminent. I hate to disappoint people. Everyone wants it to happen, but I just don’t think it’s coming anytime soon.”
