Trailer for Marion Cotillard’s The Ice Tower

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the first trailer for La Tour de Glace (The Ice Tower), directed by Lucile Hadžihalilović and starring Marion Cotillard, was unveiled last week. The film premiered earlier at the Berlin Film Festival, where it won the award for “Best Artistic Contribution.”

The story follows a 15-year-old orphan who witnesses the filming of a movie adaptation of a fictional film titled The Snow Queen and becomes enamored with its star, Christina, played by Cotillard. The cast also includes newcomer Clara Passini (Club Cauchemar), August Diehl (A Hidden Life), and controversial Argentine filmmaker Gaspar Noé. The screenplay was written by Jeff Cox.

The connection between Noé and Hadžihalilović goes back to 2009, when they collaborated on Enter the Void. Cotillard and Hadžihalilović had previously worked together on Innocence in 2004.

The Ice Tower will be released in U.S. theaters on October 3.
