Toronto Film Festival Winners: Hamnet Named People’s Choice Award Winner

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the 50th Toronto International Film Festival concluded Sunday with awards presented to the top films. Hamnet, directed by Chloé Zhao and praised by critics, won the coveted People’s Choice Award.
In the past 15 years, 12 winners of the People’s Choice Award went on to receive Best Picture Oscar nominations, with four—including The King’s Speech, 12 Years a Slave, Green Book, and Nomadland—ultimately winning the Academy Award.
Four prizes, including People’s Choice, People’s Choice Documentary, People’s Choice Midnight Madness, and the new People’s Choice International, are decided by audience vote.

- 2nd place: Sentimental Value by Joachim Trier
- 3rd place: Homebound by Neeraj Ghaywan
- Platform Prize: To the Victory! by Valentyn Vasyanovych
- Best Canadian Feature Film:Wrong Husband by Zacharias Kunuk
- Special Mention: There Are No Words by Min Sook Lee
- Best Canadian First Feature:Blue Heron by Sofie Removary
