Title Roles Cast for Highly Anticipated London and UK Tour Revival of ‘Billy Elliot the Musical’

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, following an extensive global talent search, Universal Theatrical Group and Working Title Films have unveiled the four exceptionally talented young actors set to alternate in the titular role for the upcoming UK tour and limited West End engagement of Billy Elliot the Musical.

Due to the immense physical demands and rigor of the role, the title performance will be shared among the following four actors:

  • Spencer Collins (13, California): A Royal Ballet School International Scholar who has trained at prestigious institutions, including the Princess Grace Academy in Monaco and the Joffrey Ballet.
  • Noah Mannion (12, Stockport, UK): A reigning world champion dancer who represented England at the 2025 Dance World Cup.
  • Rafferty Smale (12, Leigh-on-Sea, UK): A full-time student at The Royal Ballet School whose previous stage credits include major productions of The Nutcracker and Cinderella.
  • William Gurney (12, Berkshire, UK): A student at the Sylvia Young Theatre School who previously starred as Tommy in Matilda The Musical and appeared in television series including Call the Midwife and Silent Witness.

Original ‘Billy’ Returns to the Stage After Two Decades

In a historic casting twist, Liam Mower—one of the original boys who originated the role of Billy Elliot during the world premiere in 2005—is set to return to the production. Mower, who made history by winning an Olivier Award for his original performance, will join the new staging in the poignant role of Older Billy.

Tour Schedule and West End Engagement

The acclaimed musical will launch an extensive regional tour across the United Kingdom before returning home to London’s West End for a strictly limited run:

About the Masterpiece

Based on the critically acclaimed, Oscar-nominated 2000 feature film, Billy Elliot the Musical is set in a northern mining town during the historic 1984–85 miners’ strike. The narrative follows a young boy who trades his boxing gloves for ballet shoes, overcoming immense social expectations to pursue his dream.

The timeless production features an iconic score by Elton John, with a book and lyrics by Lee Hall. This brand-new touring production will be directed by Simon Pollard.
