Timothée Chalamet to Earn $25 Million for Mangold’s High Side

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Timothée Chalamet will receive an exceptionally high salary for his role in High Side, directed by James Mangold. The New York Times has reported that the star of Dune and A Complete Unknown will become the youngest actor ever to earn $25 million for a single film.

Before him, actors such as Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, Will Smith, Dwayne Johnson, and Denzel Washington had received salaries exceeding $25 million.

Paramount Studios acquired the production and distribution rights to the film just hours after its merger with Skydance, allowing Mangold and Chalamet to quickly begin another collaboration following their Bob Dylan biopic, which earned eight Oscar nominations.

High Side, adapted from a short story by Jimmy Oliveira, tells the story of a former MotoGP rider named Billy who cannot forget the career-ending crash that forced him out of the sport. Drawn back into the dangerous world of motorcycle racing, Billy cares for his addicted father until one day he is surprised by the return of his older brother, Cole. On the run from the FBI, Cole asks Billy to use his talents for a bank heist, assembling a crew that includes a woman with whom Billy falls in love. But when they prepare for their biggest robbery, timed with a motorcycle parade, an FBI agent named Lennox—who has a complicated past with Cole—stands in their way.

Chalamet is currently filming Dune: Part Three, while in December, A24 will release his film Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie. On the other hand, the director of Ford v Ferrari is juggling several major projects, including a “top secret” project for Netflix, Swamp Things, a biopic of Buster Keaton for 20th Century Studios, a Star Wars film, and a Shakespeare-inspired project titled Juliet.
