The Studio Season 1 Makes History with Record Emmy Wins for a New Comedy

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Seth Rogen won the Emmy Award for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Studio, streaming on Apple TV+. In the series, he plays the head of a Hollywood studio.
Accepting his award, Rogen said: “I didn’t prepare a speech, I’ve never won anything in my life.” He went on to thank the show’s cast, crew, his wife, and his representatives, adding: “I don’t know what to say. I’m so happy. Thank you, I’m grateful to all of you.”
Notably, the comedian did not thank the studio that produced the series—an ironic omission, given that one episode of The Studio directly satirizes that very situation. Rogen’s fellow nominees included Adam Brody (Nobody Wants This), Jason Segel (Shrinking), Martin Short (Only Murders in the Building), and Jeremy Allen White (The Bear).
The Studio, which set a record with 23 Emmy nominations—the most ever for a new comedy series—ended Sunday night’s ceremony with 13 wins. These included Best Comedy, Best Guest Actor, Best Lead Actor, Best Directing, Best Casting, and Best Writing, making it the all-time record-holder for a new comedy at the Emmys. FX’s The Bear had previously held the record with 10 awards across two years.
