“The Madman Who Wanted a Nobel Peace Prize”: Hollywood Denounces U.S. Invasion of Venezuela

According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, several Hollywood celebrities have condemned the United States’ military intervention in Venezuela to abduct President Nicolás Maduro, with many calling for the impeachment of Donald Trump. In the early hours of Saturday, January 3, 2026, Trump orchestrated the abduction of Maduro and his wife, delivering them to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi in New York to face charges of drug trafficking and the “possession of machine guns and other destructive devices.”
Two and a Half Men star Jon Cryer wrote on the social media platform Bluesky: “Impeach now.” His comment was in response to a Colorado Democratic representative who labeled Trump’s actions as “illegal.”
Mia Farrow posted: “Impeach this evil man. Trump and his billionaire friends in oil companies want Venezuela’s oil.” She added her hope that Democrats would finally “do the right thing for America, our allies, and the people of the world.”
Avengers star Mark Ruffalo compared Trump to Adolf Hitler, stating in another message: “This madman wanted a Nobel Peace Prize. He has bombed seven countries and entered the New Year with an illegal and immoral war. This reeks of the oil money days of Bush Jr. and Dick Cheney.”
Stephen King, the author of The Shining, wrote: “Maduro is not a good man, granted. But Putin isn’t a good man either, and Trump rolled out the damn red carpet for him. This isn’t about drugs; it’s about oil (and it’s terrifying). Just when you think Trump can’t get any more desperate, he sinks further.”
Star Trek actor George Takei noted: “The United States can only go to war with another country through a declaration by Congress. The President’s actions are unjustifiable and illegal. The military attacks on Venezuela and the loss of life and resources must end immediately.”
Other stars, including Deadpool actor Rob Delaney and Ellen Barkin, also posted messages condemning the invasion.
