“Seyed Abbas Salehi, Iran’s Minister of Culture, Urges Muslim Countries: Silence in the Face of Oppression Aids the Oppressor”

Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, in a message to the culture ministers of Muslim countries on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, referenced the war of Israel and the United States against the Islamic Republic, stating that it is time for the conscious minds in the fields of culture and art across the Islamic world to make the voice of Iran’s oppression and the resistance of other truth-seeking nations heard worldwide.
According to the CinemaDrame News Agency and the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the text of Seyed Abbas Salehi’s message is as follows:
*”In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I extend my congratulations on the blessed arrival of Eid al-Fitr, the festival of servitude and the unity of the Islamic Ummah, to Your Excellency and the Muslim peoples of the world.
We celebrate these auspicious days while the Iranian nation, during the holy month of Ramadan, endured harsh days under the unjust attacks of the Zionist regime and the United States of America, and this ruthless aggression continues. In this brutal war, innocent women, men, and children—including students of Minab School—lose their lives tragically, and residential areas, as well as the cultural and historical heritage of our beloved country, are being destroyed. Yet the Iranian people remain steadfast, insisting on their faith, dignity, and independence.
In such circumstances, the historical and ethical responsibility of all intellectuals, artists, and cultural elites in the Islamic world is greater than ever. The fundamental teachings of the Prophet remind us that silence in the face of oppression is aiding the oppressor. Today, it is time for the awakened consciences in the fields of culture and art throughout the Islamic world to convey the voice of Iran’s suffering and the resistance of other truth-seeking nations to the global audience.
With hope for cultural unity of the Islamic Ummah and the spread of the message of peace, justice, and human dignity across the world.”*
