“Saturday Night Live UK” Adds Star Power Behind the Scenes with Creative Advisors Including Barbie Actor

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, attentive fans of Saturday Night Live UK may have noticed some high-profile creative advisors in the credits over the past weekend.
Among the credits are two of Britain’s most prominent television writers: Jamie Demetrio, the Barbie actor and creator of Stath Lets Flats, and James Graham, writer of acclaimed works such as Sherwood, Dear England, and Quiz.
Demetrio has a close connection with the SNL UK team. He previously collaborated with senior writer Daran Jonno Johnson and maintains a strong relationship with Al Roberts, one of the writers who also played his best friend in Stath Lets Flats. Roberts’ wife, Emma Ciddy, is part of the SNL UK cast and has worked with Demetrio for years. Demetrio’s notable roles include Barbie and the film The Moment featuring Charli XCX.
Both Demetrio and Graham are credited as UK advisors for the show, while Kay Powers and Javier Vinik, who work on the American version, serve as U.S. advisors. They are involved throughout the season.
Graham’s advisory role may come as a surprise to some, as he is not primarily known as a comedian. However, he is widely regarded as one of the most creative figures in British television. His next project, Dear England, is an adaptation of his acclaimed stage play about the England football team for the BBC. Over the past 20 years, Graham has written around 30 plays and 10 television programs.
These two star advisors bring significant talent and influence to the SNL UK backstage, which is led by executive producer James Longman and SNL creator Lorne Michaels.
The season’s second episode, which experienced a slight dip in viewership, opened with a cold opening about former Prince Andrew and was hosted by Jamie Dornan. The episode included a series of sketches, including a horror-comedy segment featuring Jules Holland.
SNL UK faced some skepticism before its launch on Sky One but has so far received positive attention from critics and audiences. Next week’s episode will be hosted by Riz Ahmed, followed by five more scheduled episodes. Production is handled by Michaels’ Broadway Video and Universal Television Alternative Studio.
