Release Date Shift for ‘Slow Horses’ Season 6; First Images of New Cast Member Alongside the Slough House Team
According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, the beloved, rejected agents of the British intelligence service are returning to the small screen with the sixth season of the hit series Slow Horses. Apple TV+ has officially confirmed that the popular autumn show will begin airing on September 16.
The new season, produced in 6 episodes, will air weekly on Wednesdays and run until October 21. The plot for Season 6 is adapted from the sixth and seventh volumes of Mick Herron’s bestselling spy novel series, titled Joe Country and Slough House. In this season, Diana Taverner (played by Kristin Scott Thomas), the shrewd head of MI5, drags the members of Slough House into a deadly game of revenge—a crisis that forces these exhausted agents to go on the run and into hiding.
The Return of Veteran Stars and the Arrival of a New Face
Gary Oldman once again leads the group as Jackson Lamb, the grumpy yet genius head of the infamous department. Alongside him, Jack Lowden returns as River Cartwright, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Aimée-Ffion Edwards as Shirley Dander, and Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy. Jonathan Price as David Cartwright and Hugo Weaving as Frank Harkness will also feature in this season.
One of the highlights of the sixth season is the addition of Lenny Rush, the talented young British actor who joins the veteran Slough House team. The first official images of his character in the series have now been released.
Continued Success of a Spy Drama
The screenplay adaptation for this season was handled by Gaby Chipp, with Adam Randall directing the episodes. Since its premiere in 2022, Slow Horses has rapidly become one of Apple TV+’s most-watched and critically acclaimed series, earning multiple BAFTA and Emmy nominations. Last year, Adam Randall took home the Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for this spy drama.
