Release Date Announced for James Bond Video Game 007 First Light

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, IO Interactive, the studio behind Hitman, and PlayStation have announced via a gameplay reveal on YouTube that 007 First Light will be released on March 27, 2026.

Patrick Gibson, known for Dexter: Original Sin, will portray James Bond in the game. The last Bond video game, 007 Legends, was released in 2012.

In First Light, Bond is 26 years old and travels to exotic locations. Familiar allies such as M, Q, and others will also appear in the story.

The gameplay footage, reminiscent of Hitman, shows Bond and a female character in lush green settings with cinematic angles, revealing that players will often be able to choose how Agent 007 responds in conversations. Other sequences promise wild driving scenes and explosive set pieces worthy of a Bond film.

The video game’s debut comes as the cinematic Bond franchise edges closer to resuming production after years of delays. Amazon MGM recently reshaped the project with a $1 billion investment, bringing in Denis Villeneuve to direct and Steven Knight to write the screenplay.

Voice actors for the game include Lennie James as Greenway, Priyanga Burford as M, Alastair Mackenzie as Q, Kiera Lester as Moneypenny, and Naomi Nakai as Ms. Roth.

007 First Light will launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
