Record-Breaking Viewership for the Trailer of Michael with 116 Million Views in 24 Hours

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the trailer for Michael, starring Jaafar Jackson as his uncle Michael Jackson, reached 116.2 million views within its first 24 hours. As reported by Variety Metrics, it has become the most-viewed trailer in history for a biographical musical film.

Two years ago, the trailer for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour set a record of 96.1 million views, followed by Bob Marley: One Love with 60.1 million, and Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) with over 57.6 million views. Last year, the trailer for A Complete Unknown, starring Timothée Chalamet as Bob Dylan, garnered 47.2 million views.

Directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan, Michael will chronicle the entire life of the late Michael Jackson, who passed away in June 2009. The film will explore his rise from a child prodigy to a global icon, as well as the challenges he faced, including a difficult childhood and later-life allegations. Jackson remains one of the best-selling artists in music history, having sold over 400 million records worldwide.

Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, plays his uncle, while Miles Teller portrays Howard Weitzman, Jackson’s defense attorney. Colman Domingo stars as Joe Jackson, Michael’s father; Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, his mother; Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones; Kat Graham as Diana Ross; Jessica Sula as La Toya Jackson; and Larenz Tate as Berry Gordy, founder of Motown Records.

Michael is set to hit theaters on April 24, 2026.
