Norman Reedus Shares Emotional Farewell to “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” as Final Season Wraps Filming
According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, Norman Reedus has officially said goodbye to The Walking Dead franchise after 16 years.
Norman Reedus, the star of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, has finally bid farewell to his beloved role after 16 years of fighting for survival in the zombie apocalypse. Sharing an emotional message, he announced that filming for the fourth and final season of the AMC spin-off has officially wrapped, noting that he poured his entire heart and soul into this final chapter.
Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes photos from Season 4, Reedus wrote:
“Now that I’m back from Mongolia, I’m finally looking through photos from the final episode. The sense of achievement we felt after wrapping was truly amazing. This crew was the best group I’ve ever worked with. So much hard work and love went into this season; I think you will definitely feel it when you watch it. It was a special season, and everything feels very different this time around.”
Melissa McBride, who plays Carol, had previously promised fans during New York Comic Con in October that Season 4 would be even better than Season 3. Reedus also emphasized at the time that they had created something truly extraordinary for the final season.
As the fifth spin-off of the original The Walking Dead series, the show follows Daryl and Carol’s journey to return home to their loved ones—a journey that originally brought them to France, the origin of the zombie virus. The fourth and final season, which was filmed on location in Spain, was renewed last year and is now in its final stages of post-production.
