Netflix renews Dept. Q for Season 2

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Netflix has greenlit a second season of the crime drama Dept. Q, based on the novels by Jussi Adler-Olsen. The series remained among Netflix’s most-watched TV titles worldwide for six consecutive weeks.

Matthew Goode will return as Detective Carl Mørck, alongside Alexey Manolov as Assad, Leah Byrne as Rose, and Jimmy Sieus as Hardy. Like the first season, the new episodes will be set in Edinburgh, Scotland.

The story follows detective Carl Mørck, who leads a small team operating out of a police basement in Edinburgh, tasked with investigating cold cases once deemed unsolvable. Scott Frank, best known for The Queen’s Gambit, serves as writer and director of the series, and executive produces alongside Rob Bullock and Charlotte Moore.
