Lizzy Caplan Joins FX’s ‘Far Cry’ Series Adaptation
According to the CinemaDrame News Agency, Lizzy Caplan has officially joined the cast of FX’s upcoming series adaptation of Far Cry.
First announced in November 2025, the series is being developed by Noah Hawley and Rob McElhenney, with McElhenney set to both create and star in the project. While specific plot and character details remain under wraps, the series will mirror the structural DNA of the video game franchise by operating as an anthology, with each season introducing a completely new storyline and setting.
Caplan is no stranger to FX, having previously starred in the limited series Fleishman Is in Trouble, a performance that earned her an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series. She also received an Emmy nod for her role in Showtime’s drama series Masters of Sex. Her other notable television credits include Fatal Attraction, Zero Day, Party Down, and Castle Rock.
On the big screen, the actress recently appeared in the thriller Cobweb and has starred in major feature films such as the Now You See Me franchise, Cloverfield, and 127 Hours.
The Far Cry series will stream and broadcast via FX, Hulu, and Disney+. This project marks the franchise’s first-ever live-action television adaptation. The property was previously adapted into a 2008 direct-to-video feature film directed by Uwe Boll and starring Til Schweiger. Additionally, Netflix released an animated series in 2023 titled Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, which was inspired by the DLC expansion of Far Cry 3.
The acclaimed Far Cry gaming franchise originally launched in 2004. Since then, it has spawned five main-line sequels and multiple spin-offs, with the latest mainline entry, Far Cry 6, releasing in 2021.
