Kirsten Dunst Joins Sofia Coppola’s New Film After Priscilla

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Kirsten Dunst will star in Sofia Coppola’s new film, following Priscilla. Last December, Coppola told Vogue that she was in the early stages of writing a new screenplay and hoped to finish it by 2025. This week, Dunst confirmed in an interview with Town & Country that she will be part of the project, with filming set to begin in 2026.
The collaboration between Coppola and Dunst began in 1999 with The Virgin Suicides, continued with Marie Antoinette in 2006, and later with The Beguiled in 2017.
Coppola received positive reviews for Priscilla, starring Cailee Spaeny as Elvis Presley’s wife, which marked her eighth feature film. Still, many continue to regard her two-decade-old Lost in Translation as her best work.
The filmmaker previously reflected on the commercial failure of Marie Antoinette, saying: “I was glad I got to make that movie, but nobody saw it. It was a flop. The fact that it’s endured and people still talk about it is gratifying because so much work went into making it.”
