Hello Kitty Animated Movie to Be Released in 2028

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Warner Bros. has announced that the animated film Hello Kitty will hit theaters in the summer of 2028. The project was first introduced in March 2021.

Hello Kitty is the second most profitable Japanese franchise after Pokémon. The character was created by Yuko Shimizu in 1974 for the Sanrio company, and since then, Kitty White has appeared in anime series, comic books, video games, and countless other media and products.

While plot details remain under wraps, Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo—who had been pursuing the adaptation rights to Hello Kitty for nearly a decade—is producing the project. His company also has the live-action remake of Moana starring Dwayne Johnson in post-production, set to be released on July 10, 2026.

Warner Bros. will release Hello Kitty in theaters on July 21, 2028.
