Harrison Ford: “I Don’t Know a Greater Criminal Than Trump in History”

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Harrison Ford harshly criticized Donald Trump this week for questioning global warming, ahead of receiving an award from the Field Museum in Chicago, in an interview with The Guardian. The Star Wars and Indiana Jones actor described Trump as a terrifying “criminal.”
He said:
“[Trump] has no policy, only whims. He scares me profoundly. Ignorance, audacity, lies, breaking promises. He knows better himself, yet he’s the cause of the current situation and profits from it—fast—while the world is burning. Incredible. I don’t know a greater criminal in history.”

Last month, Trump told the United Nations that global warming is “the greatest hoax ever perpetrated in the world,” adding:
“If you don’t go along with this green deception, your country will become weak. To be great again, you need strong borders and traditional energy resources.”
The Guardian reported that Trump halted clean air and renewable energy projects, ordered oil and gas companies to “drill, baby, drill” for fossil fuels, fired hundreds of scientists, destroyed their projects, and even banned the terms “climate change” and “emissions” within the government.
Ford, on climate change and related crises, said:
“I knew it was coming; I’ve been preaching about this for thirty years. Everything we’ve said about climate change has been true. Why isn’t that enough for people to change their behavior? Because of the entrenched status quo.”
About Trump, he added:
“He’s failing because everything he says is a lie. I’m confident we can mitigate [climate change], we can buy time to change behaviors, invent new technologies, and fully implement policies. But we need political will and rational understanding that humans can change. We are highly adaptable, highly inventive beings. If we focus on problems, most of the time we solve them.”
