“Grand” Downton Abbey Actor Voices Support for Gaza on Live Broadcast

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Hugh Bonneville, star of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, surprised ITV on the red carpet premiere this Wednesday by delivering a message in support of Gaza and the Palestinian people before speaking about the “beauty” of the film.
In the live interview, Bonneville said: “Before I talk about the tenderness and beauty of our wonderful film, I must say that what is about to happen in Gaza City is indefensible.” He continued, facing the stunned host: “The international community must do better to bring this to an end.”
Bonneville then returned to discussing Downton Abbey: “Downton Abbey is a beautiful film, and tonight we celebrate fifteen glorious years. It’s a grand finale, and we enjoyed making it very, very much. It’s a love letter to the fans.”
In addition to Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern and Michelle Dockery, other returning cast members for the third installment include Jim Carter, Dominic West, Laura Carmichael, Robert James-Collier, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Sophie McShera, and Douglas Reith.
One day after this interview, Israel destroyed one of Gaza’s landmark towers.
