Graham Greene, actor of Dances With Wolves and The Green Mile, has passed away

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Canadian actor Graham Greene, Oscar nominee for Dances With Wolves and The Green Mile, has died at the age of 73. His representative announced in a statement that Greene passed away “after a long illness.”

This Indigenous actor, who always remained active in acting, first appeared in the series The Great Detective in 1979 and later in Running Brave in 1983. However, it was Dances With Wolves that brought him fame. In 1991, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for that film, which earned 12 nominations in total and won 7 Oscars.
After Dances With Wolves, Greene appeared in studio roles, including as prisoner Arlen Bitterbuck in The Green Mile in 1999, and in the 1994 Western comedy Maverick opposite Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster.
He played Harry Clearwater, the elder of the tribe, in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, and starred in the 2017 drama Wind River directed by *Taylor Sheridan. Greene continued working with Sheridan in the series 1883 and Tulsa King.
On television, Greene appeared in numerous works, including Longmire, Goliath, FX’s Reservation Dogs, and Amazon’s The Red Road.
