Golshifteh Farahani in Nicolas Pariser’s Film Un peu avant minuit

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the thriller Un peu avant minuit, directed by Nicolas Pariser, began production on September 29 and will continue until November 7. CinéEurope reports that Golshifteh Farahani is among the cast of the director’s fourth feature film, following The Great Game and The Green Perfume.

Melvil Poupaud, nominated for the César Award for Best Actor in 2020 and 2024 for By the Grace of God and Just the Two of Us, and set to appear next year in Fresh Water for Flowers, stars in the lead role.

Supporting roles include Léonie Simaga, who appeared in two previous films by Pariser and was recently seen in the series Le Négociateur; Chiara Mastroianni, César nominee in 2020 for On a Magical Night and appearing next year in Victor comme tout le monde and Demain je tombe amoureux; and Golshifteh Farahani, César nominee in 2014 known for The Patience Stone and more recently Alpha.

The film also features Clara Pacini (The Ice Tower) and César winner Anaïs Demoustier (Alice and the Mayor), who will appear next year in La Vénus électrique.

The story follows a 49-year-old man who, just as he plans to separate from his wife, learns of the death of his biological father, whom he never met. He leaves Nancy for Italy but stays in Paris for a few days to reflect on his present and past, gradually questioning his existence and relationships with women.

Un peu avant minuit will be filmed over 29 days in Paris and Ferrara, Italy, with Julia Mingo as cinematographer and Benjamin Esdraffo as composer.
