First trailer for Reminders of Him released

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, the first trailer for “Reminders of Him” starring Maika Monroe and Tariq Withers has been unveiled. The film, adapted from the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover, is set to hit theaters in 2026.

In the movie, Monroe portrays Kenna, a woman who accidentally kills her boyfriend Scotty (played by Rudy Pankow) in a car accident. Seven years later, she is released from prison and returns to her hometown in Wyoming to rebuild her life with her young daughter. However, the family who has been raising the child refuses to let her see her. Amid the turmoil, Kenna meets Ledger (Withers), a man who becomes an unexpected source of connection and hope. Lauren Graham and Bradley Whitford round out the supporting cast.

The 32-year-old Monroe told People that she was deeply impressed by her co-star:

“Tariq is a gem—so talented. We had some really tough days on set, but he always made me laugh, which was something we needed in this story.”

Withers, 27, whose recent film “I Know What You Did Last Summer” hit theaters earlier this year, said he immediately connected with Monroe:

“During one of our first rehearsals, we were both in tears over a scene. Right then, I knew I wanted to protect her through this process. Because when you tell stories like this, you carry your own grief and loss into it.”

Following “It Ends With Us” starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, Reminders of Him marks the next film adaptation of Hoover’s novels. “Regretting You” opens in U.S. theaters on October 24, while “Verity” starring Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson is set for release next year.

Hoover described Reminders of Him as a “faithful adaptation”:

“Pain, hope, and forgiveness—all of it is there. But seeing it unfold on screen makes it even more powerful. As the author, there’s something magical about hearing the dialogue and watching those small, quiet moments between the characters. I want readers to feel that magic—and I believe they will.”

Reminders of Him will be released on March 13, 2026.
