First Teaser for Die My Love Starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Mubi has released the first trailer for Die My Love, four months after its festival premiere. The distributor had previously acquired rights to the latest film by Lynne Ramsay in a $24 million deal.
Adapted from Arianna Harwicz’s novel Die, My Love, the film tells the story of a woman who suffers from severe psychological struggles after childbirth while living in a remote French village. Jennifer Lawrence stars as Grace, alongside Robert Pattinson, with LaKeith Stanfield as the woman’s lover, and Sissy Spacek and Nick Nolte in supporting roles.
The BBC described the film as: “A surreal, tense, and at times darkly comic exploration of postpartum depression—though it often feels like it’s about something much larger. Jennifer Lawrence is better than ever as Grace… the film has its flaws, but it is essentially atmospheric—a prolonged nervous breakdown—rather than a conventional drama with a plot.”
Martin Scorsese, one of the film’s producers, first read Harwicz’s novel in 2020 and sent a copy to Lawrence’s production company. Justine Ciarrocchi, who runs the company with Lawrence, told Screen Daily: “[Scorsese] insisted that no one could play Grace the way [Lawrence] could.”
Last year, Mubi distributed The Substance, directed by Coralie Fargeat, which earned Demi Moore her first Oscar nomination as well as a Golden Globe nod.
Die My Love will be released on November 7.
