Ferrari and Maserati: The Brothers Producer Developing Giorgio Armani Biopic

According to CinemaDrame News Agency, Italian producer Andrea Iervolino, known for films such as Ferrari, is developing a biographical film about Giorgio Armani, who passed away on September 4 at the age of 91.

The project has reportedly been in the works for several months as “a tribute to one of the greatest international fashion innovators and an indelible symbol of Italian identity,” according to the producer. Iervolino said: “Armani’s passing once again reminded us of the profound value and meaning of his name for Italy and the world.”

Bobby Moresco, screenwriter of Crash and a frequent collaborator of Iervolino, has joined the project to write the screenplay. Moresco is also directing the biopic Maserati: The Brothers, starring Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Andy Garcia, and Jessica Alba.

The Armani biopic will chronicle the designer’s personal and professional evolution, exploring how he became one of the most influential fashion figures of the 20th and 21st centuries. Armani, a famously private man, maintained a longtime partnership with architect, designer, and businessman Sergio Galeotti, who died of AIDS in 1985. It has not yet been confirmed whether Iervolino will collaborate with Armani’s family on the film.

Iervolino’s credits also include To The Bone and the upcoming Deep Water. In a statement, he expressed confidence that the project will be “a source of pride for all Italians.”
